MacEmulate 5.0.1
MacEmulate version 5.x is the first version of the product that runs
natively under MacOS X.
The lastest version (5.0.1) now runs with Mac OX 10.5.x
(Leopard). Previous
versions worked properly up through 10.4.11, but not with 10.5.x.
Important note for version 4.x users: Version 5.x is the new version specification for what was previously
called version 4.5. The application features have not been changed. If you already have purchased version
4.5, you can use version 5.x for no additional cost, it is just an update. If you have version 4.0.x, you can upgrade
for $49.50. Upgrades from previous versions (3.x and older) are $79.00.
Installation Procedure
- Use the download link below to get the software. You will be downloading a disk image file (the file name ends in ".dmg").
- When you open the ".dmg" file, a window opens, which shows the contents of the disk image.
- Drag the MacEmulate application from the disk image window to the location where you would like to store it on your main hard drive.
Usually, you should store it in the Applications folder.
- Double-click the MacEmulate application to start it up.
- Follow the instructions as the program runs. If you have not previously installed MacEmulate, it will ask for your web installation code.
For version 4.0.x users only: If you want to use the same settings and preferences as version 4.0, you
will need to move or copy the MacEmulate Documents folder to a new location. If you were already using version 4.5, you
do not need to do this. With version 4.0, the MacEmulate Documents folder is stored in System
Folder->Preferences. In OSX, the folder is stored in "your home folder"->Library->Preferences.
If you do not move or copy the folder, MacEmulate will create new default settings and preferences.
You may want to copy the folder, and still leave it the old location if you want to also be able to
use the older version 4.0 of MacEmulate.
Make note of the last update date below, so that you don't download a file you
already have, or download an older version than you already have.
